The packages offer the opportunity to watch and learn about these amazing cetaceans that come to these shores to give birth and feed their calves. All packages include full board (no drinks), transfers, the boat trip and English spoken guide. Trips to historical cities, horse rides, trekking to waterfall and surf lessons is available depending on the package. The boat trip is on a 9 meters semi-rigid boat for 20 passengers, recently purchased for this purpose. It is equipped with two 90 HP engines, life vests for every passenger and an emergency boat regarding the National Sailing Regulations imposed by local authorities (Capitania dos Portos). The whale watching trip lasts about 120 minutes, accompanied by a biologist of the Institute, and the captain is specially trained to approach this animals.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Florianopolis-Praia do Rosa
Arrive in Florianopolis and transfer for Vida Sol & Mar Resort. Welcome Caipirinha (typical Brazilian sugar cane drink) accompanied by a short lecture about whale watching. (D)
Day 2: Praia do Rosa / Whale watching
At 7:00 am Breakfast (during this period a specialized guide will talk about the events of the day); At 8:00 am departure to Garopaba beach (30 minutes from Praia do Rosa) to take our boat, specially equipped for whale watching. This tour will be guided for trained personnel and a biologist of the Right Whale Institute will provide the information you need about this species; Lunch at Garopaba beach; In the afternoon it is possible to visit the Garopaba Historical side and also go shopping were you can find art stores and surf stores; Return to the Resort; Chat about events of the day with a biologist for exchange of ideas, curiosities, etc; Dinner at hotel. Day 3: Praia do Rosa / Visit to villages
At 8:00 am Breakfast; At 9:00 am visit to the city of Imbituba, stop at the “Museu da Baleia” (Whale Museum, depending on museums availability) and at part of the last whaling Station used for hunting whales; Visit to Itapiruba“s beach; Visit to the historical city of Laguna, the “moles da Barra” and Anita Garibaldi“s Museum. Bottle nose dolphin watching in the Laguna“s channel; Lunch with a panoramic view. This lunch will be served in a Restaurant at “Molhes da Barra”, a very peculiar and beautiful place where the deck is situated in privileged position at the a beach. Of this point it’s possible to observe the dolphins helping the fisherman to spot a shoal of fish; Dinner at hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Praia do Rosa-Florianopolis
Breakfast at the resort. Transfer out to the airport for your next destination. (B)

The Vida Sol e Mar Resort is situated in Praia do Rosa, under Imbituba jurisdiction, central location in the region of more concentration of southern right whales in Brazil. They sponsor the Right Whale Institute which promotes the preservation of this species in our country and relies on specialists who participated in the project conception in Santa Catarina, provided all the technical information and team training for whale watching and will offer support during the trips.
