Itinerary

Day 1 Chiang Mai - Samoeng - Wat Chan - Musikee Eco-Lodge (L/D)
AM Pick up from your Chiang Mai hotel and head northwest to Wat Chan. Enroute stop at a local market and see Thai people selling their wares. Continue to Baan Wat Chan, the home of the Karen Tribe people for over a century. Visit Baan Chan Temple, followed by lunch surrounded by fragrant natural pine forest.

After lunch, head into the mountains for an hour trek to Musikee Eco Lodge. The Lodge is completely surrounded by forest, mountains and bird songs and mountain streams. You can explore rice fields, hills and rivers and the pristine nature surrounding the Lodge,  swim in the crystal clear mountain water or relax at the “sunbathing beach” in the middle of the jungle. 

In the evening have dinner at the Lodge restaurant followed by a fascinating cultural show with musical instruments and lively performances by young hill tribe people. This emotional show gives the audience an insight into their lifestyle. Round off the night chatting around a log fire before retiring to your private chalet.

Day 2 Karen Hill Tribe Lodge (B/L/D)
Morning early start with breakfast at the lodge. Then start a 3 hour trek through jungle and along streams to the elephant camp. During the trek your guide will show you many edible fruits, herbs, and medicinal plants. Special Lunch will be Provided ( Jungle Style using all natural utensils - bamboo, Banana Leaves).

After Lunch you can swim in a crystal clear mountain waterfall pool. In the afternoon enjoy riding your elephant through jungle, over mountains and along streams. Continue with a short walk to Karen Hill Tribe Lodge. Here you relax at the village and enjoy a delicious barbeque. Then enjoy chatting around the campfire or at the bar until you are ready to retire to your room.

Day 3 Karen Hill Tribe Lodge (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the Lodge, followed by a 1 hour trek though the jungle and rice fields to Baan Houy Ya-Nai a Karen hill tribe village where an ancient traditional Karen Hill Tribe ceremony welcomes you. At the village you observe traditional daily activities such as rice pounding, weaving, and see traditional hunting equipment.

Visit Baan Sao Dang, a Lisu hill tribe village where you witness Lisu daily activities then continue to the Royal Project Baan Sao Dang which specializes in indigenous and non-indigenous fruit and vegetables. Picnic lunch is served at the village or the Royal Project. You can taste the delicious coffee grown at the Royal Project.

In the afternoon, return to Karen Hill Tribe Lodge with a short visit to a hill tribe school. Dinner is preceded with a cooking demonstration using fresh vegetables grown at the Royal Project. Afterwards enjoy sitting around the campfire chatting with friends enjoying fresh fragrances of the jungle in brilliant moonlight.

Day 4 Karen Hill Tribe Lodge - Mae Taeng - Chiang Mai (B/L)
Breakfast followed by relaxation until 9am. Then embark on a 1 hour journey to Houy Nam Duang National Park where you visit Thailand’s largest geyser Pong Duat. After lunch, continue along mountain scenery to visit Mok Fha waterfall where you can swim in the natural surroundings. Arrive in Chiang Mai and transfer to your hotel.
