Itinerary
Day 1 Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Lopburi - Phitsanuloke (L)
Depart Bangkok in the morning for northern Thailand. First stop is Bang Pa In, the former summer residence of the kings of Ayutthaya built in the 18th century. Visit the Royal Palace, the Thai pavilion, the Chinese-style Palace Vihat Chamrun with their trimmed bushes in elephant shapes.

Continue to Ayutthaya (capital of Siam from 1350 to 1767) and visit the most interesting temples. Proceed to Lopburi, visiting Phra Prang Sam Yod, a temple with three towers and impressive ornaments as well as the shrine of the Hindu Goddess Kali at the Sarn Prakarn Temple.Lunch at a local restaurant then continue on to Phitsanuloke. Accommodation at Topland Hotel or similar.

Day 2 Phitsanuloke - Sukhothai - Sri Satchanalai - Lampang (B,L)
Breakfast at the hotel, then proceed to Sukhothai, the first capital (13th century) of the Thai Kingdom. Old Sukhothai is one of Asia’s most important historical sites and under the supervision of UNESCO. Visit Wat Sra Sri and Wat Sri Chum temples before continuing to Sri Satchanalai, the former sister town of Sukhothai for lunch and to see some of its most interesting temples and ruins. 

After lunch, drive further North to Lampang. Accommodation at Lampang River Lodge or similar.

Day 3 Lampang - Lamphun - Chiang Mai (B,L)
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by visit to the famous temples in Lampang, Wat Phra Dhat Lampang Luang and Wat Phra Keo Don Tao before proceeding to Lamphun. Visit Wat Haripoonchai Burmese style temple.

Arrive at Chiang Mai and take lunch. Drive to the holy mountain temple Wat Phra Dhat Doi Suthep. Then continue onto your hotel. Accommodation at The Park Hotel or similar.

Day 4 Chiang Mai (B,L)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we visit an elephant camp to see how elephants work and take an optional elephant ride. Visit the Orchid and Butterfly Farm before taking a local lunch. Visit the handicraft villages at San Kampaeng. Watch traditional handicrafts being made with a chance to purchase the pieces. Accommodation at The Park Hotel or similar.

Day 5 Depart Chiang Mai (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from hotel to Chiang Mai Airport for your departure flight.
