Ras Al Khaimah

Come and discover Ras Al Khaimah – the hidden gem of The Gulf, which boasts magnificent landscapes, breathtaking coastlines and rich, terracotta desert planes.
Ras Al Khaimah is the UAE’s northernmost emirate and is surrounded by the majestic Hajar Mountains.
The island is a must for outdoor enthusiasts, as the diverse scenery makes an ideal playground.  There is no shortage of water sports or adventures thanks to its sandy beaches, sprawling oases, hot springs and sun-baked desert.
There are also all the trappings of The Gulf, including luxury resorts, leisure facilities and a mountain road offering glorious views. Most of the development is based in an area called Al Hamra, some 15km south of RAK City.
Be sure to check out Jazirat Al Hamra Fishing Village, which is one of the oldest and best preserved coastal villages in the UAE.
Culture vultures will adore exploring historical landmarks including the National Museum of Ras Al Khaimah, which occupies a 19th-century fort that was once the residence of the Qawassim rulers until 1964. Behind its ornate wooden doors, visitors will find artefacts from archaelogical digs in the area, as well as gems and terracotta urns.
In RAK City itself, you will see the pearly-white Sheikh Zayed Mosque overlooking the Al Qawasim Corniche, a paved promenade with kiosks, benches and restaurants fronting the creek.
Ras Al Khaimah is just 45 minutes from the busy metropolis of Dubai, but it offers an entirely unique experience from its neighbouring emirates.
