Havana

Cuba’s capital Havana is the largest city in the Caribbean and certainly one of the most vivacious, its Hispanic history present in the crumbling colonial buildings and churches.  Take a walking tour of the city especially Havana Vieja (Old Havana) to see the magnificent Catedral de San Cristobal or travel back in time in one of the many fabulous 1950’s vintage American Cars.  Lunch, dinner or mojito’s in La Bodeguita the bar made famous by its frequent visitor author Ernest Hemmingway where his life-sized statue takes pride of place at the bar, a drink at the roof top bar of the Hotel Ambos Mundos Hemmingway’s first residence in Cuba is a must. Cuba’s beaches in the resort region of Valadero are reputed to be some of the best in the world and well worth the visit.
